Grafana

Grafana draws graphs from your metrics. There are two separate things you can add here, and they do different jobs.

1. A Grafana integration — for the assistant

Lets the assistant query your Grafana.

Before you start you need your Grafana URL and a service account token.

To create one: Grafana → Administration → Service accounts → Add service account → give it the Viewer role → Add service account token → copy it. It starts glsa_….

Use Viewer unless you have a specific reason not to. A read-only token cannot change your dashboards, whatever happens.

Then ask things like "what did CPU on the web servers look like last night?" and it reads Grafana to answer.

2. A dashboard — for viewing

Embeds a dashboard as a panel inside DevOps Agent.

Getting an embeddable URL

A normal dashboard URL will usually show a login page inside the frame. Use one of:

• A public dashboard — Grafana → dashboard → Share → Public dashboard. The URL looks like https://grafana.example.com/public-dashboards/<id>. Remember that anyone with that link can see it.
• Kiosk mode — append ?kiosk to hide Grafana's own navigation. Viewers still need to be signed into Grafana in that browser.

If the panel is blank

Almost always one of:

• The URL needs a login and you are not signed into Grafana in this browser. Use a public dashboard.
• Grafana refuses to be embedded. Its config must allow it: allow_embedding = true in grafana.ini, and the security settings must not block framing.
• Mixed content — an http:// dashboard inside an https:// page is blocked by the browser.

Which do I want?

• Just want to see your graphs here? Add a dashboard.
• Want the assistant to answer questions from your metrics? Add an integration.
• Both? Add both. They are independent.

Permissions

Adding and removing either: Owner or Admin. Viewing dashboards: everyone. See Roles.
